Registered Early Childhood Educator

Anticipated start date: September. Includes a three-month probation after which salary will be reevaluated.
Initial Salary: $18/hour + 4% vacation pay. After one year, all staff are eligible to join our employee profit sharing program.
Hours: Negotiable with experience and your life schedule. Childcare is offered Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and occasionally evenings and weekends (with notice and only on request). Part-time, flexible schedules can be accommodated and are generally preferred given the drop-in nature of our childcare program.
Benefits: free 24/7 access to the space, including for private events when available. Reimbursement of classroom workshop and art supplies to a group maximum of $250/month. One-week closure in December for the holidays and a paid day off for your birthday.
Position Overview: Early Childhood Educator
You will support our education team at The Workaround. Your role as one of our ECEs is to delight children with a range of activities, crafts, reading, songs and emergent learning style free play. You will also manage diapering needs and washroom breaks, snack time and parent drop-off and pick-up. Parent communication managed through HiMama and/or Slack private messages to parents.
To be a great fit for this position, you are:
•A graduate of Early Childhood Education diploma or A.E.C.E.O. equivalent program.
•Familiar with various childcare settings and have worked in a caregiver capacity for at least one year.
•Current membership with the College of ECEs (CECE)
•Knowledge and understanding of all legislation relevant to occasional child care
•Basic level of computer skills (for use of our door management app)
•Knowledge of HiMama’s parent communication app a plus
•Valid certification in Standard First Aid, including Infant and Child CPR
•Vulnerable sector check complete (reimbursable by The Workaround)
